In 1962, Accuride began as a small tool and die shop producing top-quality slides for tape drives and copy machines. Filling a market need for precision slide products, Accuride rapidly expanded, growing the product line and moving into a broad range of markets and applications.
Today, Accuride has nearly 1 million square feet of manufacturing space around the world and is the largest company in the world dedicated to the innovative design and manufacture of sliding hardware.
In the late 1960s, Accuride developed the ball bearing slide rail used for steel office furniture. The design engineers of the company then applied them to the wooden furniture market and developed new features, such as using Breathing Tabs to absorb the side space tolerance in wooden products.
Accuride formulated strict production standards to monitor each production process so that their high-quality products won a high reputation.. The factory is equipped with the continuous die stamping, roll forming and plating production lines in order to avoid the quality problems that maybe experienced by manufacturers who outsource these processes.
Today, still a private company, Accuride has plants of more than one hundred square feet and is one of the world's largest companies specialized in the design and manufacturing of ball bearing slide rails.
